Morning Light

(deep sigh) Ok, I owe an apology to the snakes. In an earlier post I declared that "snakes suck".

Yesterday while I was out painting, a couple stopped by to look at what I was doing. Of course I warned them of the rattlesnake that was in the area. The gentleman reminded me of the symbology of snakes. There's all of that Freudian stuff, but snakes are also a positive symbol - an age old symbol of rebirth, vitality and yes, healing. " How appropriate", he said, "that as you create these paintings to help Ray, a snake was in the area - a positive and fortuitous symbol of rebirth for you and your friend."
